2. Book to join in the Love Food Hate Waste workshop in central St Albans Sat 1st Oct 9:30am – 1pm.
We are asking Food Waste pioneers to sign up for the workshop/training morning, and then to share their learning in any local group, or with neighbours, or friends. This will help prepare the good folk of St Albans District for the ‘Week Without Food Waste’ community challenge. The training costs £5 or £1 for reps of community groups and/or concessions. Email us at firstname.lastname@example.org to sign up.
3. Let’s Squash Food Waste – please volunteer to help on the Food Waste #PumpkinRescue Stall at St Albans Market on Sat 29th October.
Our chef, Heather Foster who runs The Green Kitchen vegetarian cafe, will be making Pumpkin soup from pumpkins donated by Willow Farm. We will be giving the soup away – a welcome hot cuppa on a cold Autumn day just before Halloween. We hope to encourage people to use up left-over pumpkins and we will be giving out Pumpkin recipes, and our publicity for ‘A Week Without Food Waste’ challenge.
4. Sign up for the Week Without Food Waste challenge to take place from 19th-26th November.
We are challenging people in St Albans District to manage a week without throwing away any edible food or left-overs. Easy? Sign up by emailing us at email@example.com and you have a chance of winning a lunch for two at Lussmanns Restaurant, and more prizes.
We will send you some tips and advice to help prepare for the week, and asking you to send your tips and advice through Twitter or Instagram @SustainableStA.
