It has been a busy weekend start to the weekend with over 150 people attending events this weekend and we invite you to come along to an event this week.

The website has all sorts of information, including things you can do at home, yourself this week. You can also see some lovely examples of the #Postcards2Paris that local schoolchildren have been creating to send off to the Global Climate Change talks next week.

RepairposterpicSat 28th: Repair Event 10am – 1pm

Zapped a zip? Your toaster’s toast? Laggardly laptop? Broken bike? DIY disaster? Don’t despair – repair! Bring along anything you can carry for our experts to examine, offer advice, and if possible, repair. Experts in needlework and DIY will be on hand, experienced fixers from The Restart Project will be undaunted by anything electrical or electronic, or get a free bike check from Cycle Tech Herts. Refreshments available. 10am – 1pm in the Foyer, St Albans City and District Council Offices, Civic Centre, St Peter’s Street, St Albans AL1 3JE. Organised by St Albans City and District Council’s Waste and Recycling Team, Cycle-Tech Hertfordshire and with volunteers from The Restart Project. Free


 

Nunnery2Sat 28th Sopwell History Walk – the Norman Connection 1.45pm – 3.30pm

A simple 2/3 mile walk, led by one of Sopwell’s most knowledgeable residents, Chris Pudsey,visiting Sopwell’s historic pointers of interest. Participants will discover how this area of St Albans has been able to maintain a strong ‘rural’ element whilst being part of the residential area of southern St Albans.
