First Open Food Garden of the new season – Cosy

Last Saturday, 16th April, Peter B kicked off our new season of Open Food Growing Gardens by inviting all to his beautiful home garden in Althorp Road near Clarence Park.

We weren’t exactly inundated with visitors. Maybe the weather was too nice (!) and it was, of course, also bang in the middle of the Easter school holidays.

Lots of nice flowers and a bit of blossom on the pear and the new damson tree; not many vegetables growing yet apart from some lettuce.

Most importantly, however, an abundance of insight and experience in all matters growing fruit and veg to be tapped into!

Also plenty of pleasant and relaxed conversations to be had, with a cup of tea or coffee and some delicious home-baked cake from the Courtyard Café.

We hope that it was useful and thank you all for coming.
