Do you have a favourite tree in St Albans?

Kate Bretherton, who previously published “St Albans Heritage Tree Trail”, now wants to produce a comprehensive guide to the “Remarkable Trees of St Albans”.

Working together with David Curry, co-ordinator of the St Albans Tree Warden Scheme, residents are invited to nominate trees and share the story behind the tree.

If you have a favourite tree, and you are allowed to have more than one, then let them know before the end of June.

Trees are one of the most important natural elements within the city and no doubt there are many tree stories waiting to be told, some even of historical significance. It is hoped that these tree stories will highlight the importance of trees in the City of St Albans for future generations.

The final 30 trees will be selected by a panel of experts and local community representatives.

The details required for each tree are:

  • Your name and address
  • Your favourite tree
  • Where is it located? Only trees that can be seen from a public right of way can be included in the book
  • A photograph if possible
  • Why is this your favourite tree?

You can submit as many as you like.
