Mon 25th Jan: SADC/LSP – Re-launch of the St Albans Environmental Forum – 7pm, Council Chamber, Civic Centre. TSA was invited to contribute a talk which Tim delivered successfully. He spoke about “The Sustainability of Our Food Supply”.

Tue 13th April: St Albans Friends of the EarthGreen Hustings – 7.30pm for 8pm start, at Marlborough Road Methodist Church. An excellent opportunity to quiz all general election candidates for St Albans on their Green agendas. And you can even suggest questions now. More details here.

As it is on the same day as the Green Hustings, the proposal is for people to go to the Green Hustings first and to retire to the pub afterwards (a short walk from Marlborough Road) to continue with the discussion.

Thu 21st Oct: Apple Day at Heartwood Forest (*) – 10am to 1pm. Heartwood Forest near Sandridge isn’t going to be made up of just native broadleaf trees, it will have a large community orchard. Planting starts on Apple Day, 21st October 2010, and everybody is welcome to come and help. Details.

Tue 26th Oct: Dr Paul Connett speaks about Incineration (*) – Labour Party Offices, 28 Alma Road, 5pm. Details.

NOVEMBER

Tue 9th Nov: Social – Green Drinks – 8pm, Farmers Boy pub, 134 London Road. As promised, Douglas gave us a tour of their micro brewery! (activity postponed from last month’s Green Drinks Special)

Wed 17th Nov: Open Meeting – 7.30pm, Fleetville Community Centre. Theme: “Energy – Conservation and Generation“, where we will look into the opportunities for our local community contained within the recent Comprehensive Spending Review and the forthcoming Energy Security and Green Economy Bill. Facilitator: Rick Holland. Everybody welcome!

DECEMBER

Wed 8th Dec: STACC public meeting (*) – Cycling DIY – 7.30pm, St Albans District Council Offices, Civic Centre, St Peters Street, AL1 3JE. Help plan small schemes that make a big difference, and find out how it’s done in London. Speaker: Alix Stredwick of Transport Initiatives. Details.
